Key Account Manager – Seals 

Our client is a global OEM turning over circa £400 MM per annum. They manufacture a range of mechanical and materials based engineering solutions for demanding environments and critical products. They operate in industries including O&G, chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive and fluid power across the UK, EMEA, APAC & NA.

Due to expansion of the business and opportunity has arisen to appoint a Key Account Manager to manage $7MM worth of accounts in Houston.

Ideal Candidate Experience

  • Rotating Equipment – pumps, mechanical seals, sealing solutions, gaskets etc
  • Exceptional sales techniques – especially in consultative and value selling with highly technical products and services
  • Management of high value key account

Key Account Manager Responsibilities 

  • You will initially be responsible for key accounts within the existing business – totalling an amount of circa £2.5 MM.
  • Develop & maintain relationships with clients
  • Frequent site visits to encourage repeat selling while providing a consultative solution based sale.
  • Dealing with existing OEM, end users & distributors.
  • Plan and deliver persuasive approaches and pitches that will attract potential customers
  • Use exceptional selling skills to maximise each account’s potential through range-selling, cross-selling and value- selling as well presenting complex solutions
  • Experience of working in a Matrix organisation.
  • Reporting directly to the UK Sales Director based in West Midlands.

Education & Experience

  • A good understanding of the technical sales with an engineered product
  • Commercial Acumen – a very strong sales candidate, commercially aware of managing Key Accounts and implementing short and long term key account plans.
  • Ideally from a mechanical background HNC minimum with the ability to hit the ground running in a sales environment.
  • Being able to surpass targets and have a demonstrable record of doing this.
  • Be ambitious and have a good instinct for commercial succes
  • Strong Communication – Working alongside the UK sales team working out of the local branch reporting to the sales director
